Singapore to stage first ever fitness competition
celebrating fitness, charisma, and style
Singapore, 19 June 2018– Singapore is set to host the first ever Fitness Super Star 2018 competition, in a talent search for top fitness enthusiasts here. Conceptualised and produced by celebrated fashion producer-choreographer, Hideki Akiyoshi, the inaugural fitness competition distinguishes itself from traditional body-building competitions, with focus on blending with today’s fitness lifestyle trends in style. Organised in collaboration with Resorts World Sentosa, Asia’s ultimate destination resort, the event will be held on Saturday, 25 August 2018at the Resorts World Theatre.
Singapore to host first ever Fitness Super Star 2018
Fitness Super Star 2018 is the latest show concept by Hideki Akiyoshi who has over 30 years of marketing experience under his belt. Hideki is responsible in spearheading numerous talk-of-the-town fashion events and festivals over the past decades, and this latest show concept bridges the gap between traditional body-building competition and today’s expression of fitness and style. The show is designed to be a ‘live’ reality contest that incorporates whimsical elements of fitness, fashion, and style.

“Fitness Super Star is not a “Muscle Contest”; we are looking for talents who can be icons or celebrities in their own right, not with the usual acting or performing skills, but based on their passion in keeping themselves fit, and sense of style that is relevant today,” shares Hideki Akiyoshi, Producer,Fitness Super Star 2018.
Growing Trend in #FitLife
Getting fit in life has been a growing priority in Singapore of late, and everywhere else in the world for that matter. More than just a fad, it is a revolution of how people choose to live, amidst the increasingly busy and hectic life that we lead these days; juggling multiple responsibilities, from work to personal life, and family duties as well. Singapore has seen a steady increase in various fitness events over the past few years, including mass running events, yoga workshops, fitness festivals, and nutrition seminars, among many others.
“With today’s trend where there is an upsurge of individuals who take great care of their health, looks and of course physique, and are sharing their training regimen and results on social media; Fitness Super Star is created with the objective of putting a spotlight on these individuals. I believe the definition of an icon or celebrity has evolved, this new show concept comes at an opportune time to recognise individuals who place great emphasis on their fitness and health, giving them a stage to express their passion,” explains Hideki.
Fitness Spotlight on a Grand Stage
Participants at Fitness Super Star 2018 will be vying for the win across several categories in this first-of-its-kind show format that will take place on the grand stage at Resorts World Theatre, designed by world renowned architect, Michael Graves, with world-class visual, lighting and audio effects. The show is set to deliver a whole new refreshing entertainment experience for audience.
Key categories in the competition include Male and Female URBAN ATHLETIC STYLE, Male URBAN PHYSIQUE STYLE, and Female URBAN ATHLETIC BIKINI STYLE; with prizes worth over S$50,000 to be won, including cash prizes of S$5,000. The grand champion will walk away with a S$2,500 cash prize among other attractive prizes. Participation to Fitness Super Star 2018 is priced at S$150 per entry. Participants will receive coaching and training in professional runway walk workshops, as well as photo and video shoots to enhance their confidence and flair for the competition on stage. Fitness Super Star 2018 will see a distinguished panel of judges which comprises industry heavyweights from different fields, including local actor and martial arts master Vincent Ng, TV producer Najip Ali, International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB) professionals Augustine Lee and Joan Liew, entertainer and entrepreneur Irene Ang of FLY Entertainment, and show producer Hideki Akiyoshi.
